Understand Property Ownership Laws
Foreigners in the Philippines are not allowed to own land, but they can:
- Own condominium units, as long as foreign ownership in the building doesn’t exceed 40%.
- Lease land for up to 50 years (renewable for another 25 years).
- Own houses or buildings constructed on leased land.
Tip: Always verify property titles and ownership restrictions with the Registry of Deeds or a trusted real estate lawyer.
